Mini Cooper: 2005 Mini Cooper suffered from transmission problems, while 2006 model had steering issues, including loss of power steering. More recently, 2014 model had ac/heater issues.
Mini Cooper Clubman: the first production model (2008) suffered from engine problems, and so did 2009 model. Remaining model years report few issues.
Mini Cooper Countryman: 2012 Countryman suffered from engine problems, while 2013 has some clutch issues. Overall, though, there are few reports of Countryman problems.
Mini Cooper S: 2006 model suffered from transmission problems, and power steering issues. The other model with plenty of reports was the 2009 Cooper S – it suffered from engine and clutch problems. 2007 model had engine issues, clutch problems, and cooling system problems. Fortunately, more recent Cooper S models have few problem reports.
Mini John Cooper Works: 2009 model had engine and clutch issues. Overall, we have few issue reports, but this may be due to the low number of vehicles produced.
