This was my second visit to toole’s garage. The first time for my air conditioning. I was charged $150 and was told it works s! Great. The only problem was it didn’t work, it still blew out warm air on the way home. I made another appointment. I was charged another $150. And was told it would cost $1500. To be repaired, to which I replied, no thanks. Putting the past behind me I made another appointment for repairs and brakes. It’s a 20 year old car, not used a lot. A fuel pump was replaced ( probably didn’t need one) brakes would cost $1500 to be fixed the rest…thousands. I took the car to another mechanic who simply bled my brake lines. And “POOF” like magic I had brakes. He bled them for free, he didn’t want me driving without brakes. It took about 20 min. He also found a couple other problems but only around $1200 . In my estimation, only a fool with money to burn would go to toole’s garage. Absolutely despicable. But they’re very nice folks
Thank you for your comments, in reviewing your repair orders with us we found the following and we post this to help you understand our actions. April 2021 you brought in your vehicle for the A/C at the time we did our normal A/C diag and found no leaks so we recharged the system. It was blowing cold when you left. A month later you came back and we did further diags and determined it was a faulty compressor. You declined this repair at this time. We recharged the system for you at this visit also. This last January you brought your vehicle back and stated the vehicle was for running rough, lack of power, stumbles and surges. We determined through our diagnostics that the cause was the fuel pump and relay. There are more diagnostic notes on your Repair Order if you want to review them in more detail. During our inspection we also noticed that all 4 brake calipers were rusted, the rotors had groves, the brake reservoir was empty and one of the calipers was seeping. We also bleed the brakes for you at this visit. After testing driving we noted that the brakes still didn’t stop when applied. We did recommend all new brake components in order for you to be safe on the road. We also noticed several other codes in the vehicle and we also understand that you choose not to diagnose those further. We try very hard to make sure we give all the details to our customers so they can make an informed decision that works for them. We are happy that you got the brakes bleed again and were able to stop your vehicle. Please remember that we have 3 year 36,000 mile service on all repairs we perform. We appreciate your business.
