Customer service was definitely a 5 star... That was the best part for sure. I'm giving a 2 cause they are higher priced than the dealership and anything I have come across! Like on everything they quoted! I get it... They could be like the Lamborghini of mechanics. But no way I can spend over $13k to fix my van... Yes, 13k! I went in there for some ticking and leaking oil.. they found a bunch of stuff needing fixing. I'm definitely down to fix the van. It's a 2006 Chevy Express. A new used one is about $8k. Anyhoot... Here's an example... $1,733.44 to replace 2 motor mounts. I looked up online the mount prices. Rock Auto has OR AC Delco for $90 each. I need 2.. so that's $180 and then a little more for shipping. Toole's has them listed for $278.08 each. $556.16 for the 2 and then $1177.28 for labor. Over $1700 for some motor mounts installed. Couple more examples... $1200 to change my 2 belts, idler pulley and tensioner... Or $6k to replace my transmission lol. I have worked on all my cars.. from my Mercedes s550, e350 and my mazdaspeed3. I replaced my Mazdaspeed 3 engine myself... With a little guidance. Only issue is time... I don't have much time to work on my van. But with their prices, I will have to make time to work on my own van
Thank you for the feedback Darryl. We understand that our customers can purchase parts on line and do the work themselves, this is always a less expensive alternative. We source our parts from our local vendors. The parts that we acquire and install carry a 3 year 36,000 mile parts and labor warranty. As a high rent Bay Area business we need to stay competitive in salary and benefits for our employees. We want to ensure that they have a good quality of life without a multi-hour commute. We make sure that our pricing is competitive and fair as you can read in many of our reviews. We are certainly not the lowest priced shop out here. Our goal is to make sure we have the highest skilled teammates to make sure your vehicle leaves our shop safe and reliable. We always work with our client family to prioritize the work to get their vehicle up their expectation level. We never pressure to get all work completed at once, especially on a vehicle 14 years old. We find any concerns, we create the estimates, we can schedule the work as needed. We always present everything we find because it is important that our customers know what we currently see so there are no surprises. We understand that our shop is not for everyone, but our customers understand the value that we bring and the culture we create for our employees. We appreciate your feedback and if you feel you want to break the work into sections just give us a call for an appointment.
